Matthew Uohara is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. The graduate from the University of Oregon with a degree in Human Physiology is the founder and president of Hale Inu Strength and Conditioning Inc.
Matthew’s background includes a strength and conditioning internship at the International Performance Institute on the IMG Academies campus as well as the University of Oregon Football and Track and Field Teams. He was the strength and conditioning coach for the Eugene Generals’ Select Hockey Team. He then went on to work for the PGA Center for Learning and Performance, Bommarito Performance and finally the Athlete’s Compound. Matthew has helped prepare numerous individuals for the Olympics, NFL, CFL and UFL combine trials. He has also worked with numerous athletes from the NBA, EuroLeague, NFL, PGA, MLB, ATP and MMA for season and event preparation.
Matthew has lectured on many topics including nutrient timing, warm-up/cool-down/recovery modalities, half time optimization, neuro-biomechanics of sprinting, weight training, movement training, energy systems development, reactive neuromuscular techniques, mental conditioning, injury prevention and muscle energy techniques.
